UK Tour Day 5-6. It Sells Better Than Coca-Cola.

If we had to say that there was one thing and one thing only that we took away from Glasgow, it could easily be any of the following:

1. The people there are possibly warmer than you’ll find anywhere else in the world. Stop a stranger on the street for a chat about anything and they’ll be your best friend instantly. You’ll feel like you’ve known them your entire life. That is of course if you can understand what the hell they’re saying. Chances are you’ll be able to make out at least every other word and if not that then gestures, tone and vocal volume should be enough. But the point is they were great to us.

2. King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut is one of the coolest venues you will ever see a show/play a show at. We played our first sold out show in Europe there and we will never forget that. The sound is amazing, but what you’ll probably appreciate most is the history that goes into the place. Just about every famous UK band that we love and look up to either got their start playing at the place, or at the very least made it a tour stop early on in their careers. A stairwell leading from the bottom bar of the venue up to the stage level has a list of every notable band who has played on that stage for the first time. The list is amazing and we’ve included a particularly awesome step in the images below.

3. The people of Glasgow like to drink a lot and they’ve got lots of beautiful pubs to do it in. We don’t want to make too much of this particular point since lots of people in lots of cities like to drink. But seriously. A lot.

4. The Glasgow School of Art was practically adjacent to our hotel so we were able to admire it and the awesome architecture of its main building. If you know anything about it then you know how lucky we were to have that so close by and if you don’t know anything about it then feel free to read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasgow_School_of_Art

5. A head-butt is known as the Glasgow Kiss. Ouch.

6. We got to meet one of our European Kickstarter donators! Russell, thank you so much for our support at the gig and on our campaign. It was such a pleasure to meet you! There’s a photo below.

But there is one thing that we are probably going to walk away with the most. And that is that the people of Scotland love IRN-BRU. It’s this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4PxuFQCDis

Still don’t get it? Neither do we. But my god do they love that drink.
