March 7 Cameo Gallery.
Hello? Is this thing on?
Been a little while but we thought we’d break the silence by announcing that we are playing our first show of 2012 with our friends The Stationary Set at Cameo Gallery on March 7.
What have we been up to, you wonder? Oh, just recording some new music. We’ve been in the studio the last few months writing, recording and working out which of our new songs...

Mercury Lounge Show Podcast
As you may know, we’re about to play two headlining shows at the Mercury Lounge July 21 and 22 with a few great bands. Bellevue’s Finest, Whale Belly, and the Canon Logic are going to be joining us on that stage and we all got together and thought it would be really cool if we put together a mix for our friends and fans to check out. Just tunes that we really enjoy and think others...

No Distance Single
To celebrate our upcoming 2 nights in a row headlining the Mercury Lounge (7/21 and 7/22) we are releasing a new digital single. No Distance will be available for free download on July 5, 2011. We recorded it in NYC and it was produced by Shannon Ferguson (who also produced our debut Mischief Maker).
All that we ask of you is that you sign our mailing list so that we can keep you updated on...
Live at Southpaw, free download
Our 2 night in a row Mercury Lounge headlining event is still a little while away, but we thought we’d give you all a sample of what to expect that night by uploading some tracks from our Southpaw show back in early May. This is the first time we’ve ever released live tracks so we’re pretty excited about it. Included here are a couple of newer songs as well. You can listen...

Two show event at Mercury Lounge
Hey all.
On this, the night of our Bowery Electric takeover, we are ready to announce that we have been asked to headline two nights in a row at Mercury Lounge on July 21/22. This is a huge milestone in the growth of the band and we’re excited at what could happen for us. Here’s the info:
We’ve been invited to play the Mercury lounge, not once, but twice after that sold out...
california playlist
sorry for the delay in posting about our trip to california but we’ve been a little busy lately writing new tunes and regrouping after our Southpaw gig. and now we have our Bowery Electric takeover to look forward to on May 18. but about LA…
the trip came at a time when the four of us definitely needed to get out of nyc so the gorgeous California sunshine that greeted us when we got...
Bowery Electric Takeover
On May 18, we’ll be taking over the bar and the DJ booth over at Bowery Electric in NYC.
While Andrew V serves you up some drinks, I’ll be spinning some of the bands favorite music.
Nick and Andrew S will be using their time to chat with those who join us to the event as well as distribute Kickstarter rewards to those people who have yet to pick them up from us.
There will be...

Shows dropped, MUSExpo still on
Some changes have been made to our tour schedule due to last minute vehicular complications and we’ve dropped some shows. We will however still be in LA this upcoming weekend for Musexpo and we’ve still very much looking forward to it.
For those of you who still need tickets to Southpaw on May 6, we’ll be here a couple more days so let us know.
Physical tickets available for Southpaw show.
Hey all,
We’ve have in our hands physical tickets to our Southpaw show. They are $10, which is less than they would be if you got them on the day of the show or online. Get a hold of your nearest band member to buy them. There is a catch though: we’re leaving for tour on the 26th of April and won’t be back until the day of our show. So that is your last chance to get them!...

A Journey West. Los Angeles Tour.
We’ve been invited to showcase at the 2011 Musexpo (http://www.musexpo.net/) in Los Angeles so at the end of April we are packing our bags and heading west.
We’ll be playing shows along the way but this will be the first time that A Million Years has gone this far west in the United States. Check our tour page for info on where we are going to be.
When we return we will be...
Webster Hall date with Klaxons cancelled
We regret to inform you all that our March 29 Webster Hall date opening for Klaxons has been canceled. Apparently Klaxons have canceled their entire North American tour due to unforseen circumstances. We hope that all is well within their camp and look forward to their stateside return.
For those looking to get refunded, I believe it will all happen automatically. But just in case please refer...

UK Tour Day 8-9. From London To Our Beds or...
The London gig was easily one of the best we played on the whole tour and since it was our first time in that historic city, probably one of the coolest gigs we’ve ever done. The O2 Academy in Islington was big and the crowd that showed up to catch our set impressed us with their bobbing heads and pumping fists. We also played through our set and introduced “Leaves” to UK...
UK Tour Day 7. The End Of The World?
Driving out of Glasgow proved to be more difficult than we thought it would be. Once we crawled our way out of the city proper and on to the motorway we discovered a road completely untouched by any kind of plow, shovel, salt or sand. The lanes were instead newly paved with black ice, which meant we had to drive very slowly to avoid bad, bad things. The kinds of things we saw had happened to...
UK Tour Day 5-6. It Sells Better Than Coca-Cola.
If we had to say that there was one thing and one thing only that we took away from Glasgow, it could easily be any of the following:
1. The people there are possibly warmer than you’ll find anywhere else in the world. Stop a stranger on the street for a chat about anything and they’ll be your best friend instantly. You’ll feel like you’ve known them your entire life. ...
UK Tour Day 4. Our Time in Manchester or For Your...
Our apologies for these blogs coming late. We have had trouble getting a decent wifi signal, and have also been extremely tired due to a couple of, ahem, late nights. But on to the good stuff.
Manchester was one of the best cities we’ve seen so far and this was clear to us from the minute we got there. The industrial architecture is beautiful and the particular part of the city we were...

UK Tour Day 3 Blog. Dancing In The Dark.
Here’s the Sheffield story.
Thankfully we spent a lot of our drive there sailing smoothly. The main motorways were clear for the most part. We spent the time admiring the countryside. They’ve got massive rolling hills that dip into small pathways where the snow covered trees reach down at you like skeletons in a haunted house. It was really nice to zoom past scenery that we...
UK Tour Day 2. There's Ice On The Road And The...
Dec. 2 was one of the best days we’ve ever had as a band. It marks the time we played our first international gig. People in a country other than the one we call home got to watch us perform our songs. It’s hard to describe how exciting this is for us.
The Prince Albert is a two level pub/music club that was thankfully only 10 minutes away from our hotel. We got there and...
UK Tour Day 1. It's snowing here.
It was our intention to write something yesterday but I don’t think any of us counted on jet lag hitting us as hard as it did. We arrived on Dec. 1 at 10:30am UK time, which felt like the very early hours of the morning to us. We drove straight to Brighton, even though the first show wasn’t until tonight. The plan was to stay up as late as we could and fight the powerful urge we had...

Kickstarter Victory
As we’re waking up this morning, wiping the crust off our eyes and packing for our very brief college show tour (Delaware and Ohio) we are once again speechless because of the amazing support we’ve received via Kickstarter. As of 12am this morning our project ended at 144% funded with 108 backers and $8,685 raised towards our UK tour.
Thanks to these pledges and the efforts of so...
A Million Years take over your radio
Brian Phillips over at 101.9 WRXP in NYC has invited Nick Werber and Andrew Samaha to take over his 10 O’Clock News show tonight.
As in, complete and total control. They’re going to be playing some music, offering up relationship and job advice, reading aloud some of their own poetry and discussing whether the new Deerhunter is better than the new Sufjan Stevens. All this begs...
Still some time left to pledge...
So as you may know our Kickstarter project (http://kck.st/cEk5Ij) has reached its goal. But there are still 6 days left before it’s all over and if you haven’t had the chance to pledge yet there’s time. This UK tour is going to cost us over $8000 and we could use any help you’d be willing to send our way. So feel free to pledge and get yourself a reward for it.
Correction. Our Kickstart goal has been met.
We’ve hit 100% and we NEVER could have done this without your help and support. Thank you all so much. Wow. The last 3 minutes have us four sending each other texts with lots of exclamation points…but we’re all a little speechless right now. Thank you so much. Wow.

Stepping closer to the UK tour...
Our Kickstarter project (http://kck.st/cEk5Ij) is at 97%! We are so close to our goal and we can’t wait to see “100%” on that Kickstarter page. You all have been pledging and spreading the word and it means so much to us. Let’s finish this project up.
Bowie
While we were down in Myrtle Beach we stopped into a record store called Kilgore Trout’s and I picked up a Mojo Magazine “Special Limited Edition” issue about David Bowie for $5. Perfect van reading material.
Though he’s now considered to be this iconic member of rock and roll royalty, the guy’s career was a long uphill struggle full of flops and missteps before...
7 days left and our Kickstarter (http://kck.st/cEk5Ij) is at 75%. We’re so close but we’re going to need everyone’s help to pull through the home stretch. Please help by pledging whatever you can and spreading the word to friends/family. This is going to be a huge step for us.
